3/14/2013   Planning for the 2013 QSR Drive-Thru Performance Study has begun
The core group of Top Performers has been identified, and a new regional Up-and-Comer has been selected for the 2013 Drive-Thru Performance Study. 

Since 1997 researchers across the country have undertaken thousands of drive-thru mystery shops each year with one goal in mind; to establish how quick-service restaurant chains are performing in the all-important drive-thru operation. The Drive-Thru Performance Study evaluates drive-thru operations for a benchmark group of restaurant chains, which includes Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Krystal, McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Wendy's. These chains were chosen as benchmarks for their overall strong performance since the study began in 1997.


10/10/2012    2012 QSR Drive-Thru Performance Study Released
Research for study produced by Insula Research and QSR magazine declares winners for Speed, Accuracy, Customer Service, and more.

QSR magazine published top-line results of the study for the benchmark group in its October 2012 issue. Results published include average service time, order accuracy, customer service, exterior appearance, and more.

4/1/2012    Drive Thru Performance Study included in Discover Channel series
The Insula Research QSR Drive Thru Performance Study will be featured in an upcoming televised series to be aired on the Discovery Channel. Expected to Air this summer, the Discovery Channel and host, John Hein, visited the Mid-Ohio headquarters of The Wendy's Company to highlight the chains' consistent top ranking for Speed of Service. "Wendy's has won the Speed category 11 out of 14 times in our annual study" reports Insula's Marketing Director, A.J. Fox, "Our research shows that Wendy's customers spend approximately 20 fewer seconds in line than the national average." Nationally, the Speed of Service for a participating Drive Thru is 166.3 seconds while Wendy's average is 145.5 seconds.

Six national chains and an historically strong regional brand (Del Taco) were examined for the 2011 report. Other national chains in the study were Burger King, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Chick-fil-a, and Krystal.

The Annual Drive Thru Performance Study is co-sponsored by QSR magazine, which publishes the annual findings in its October issue.

Insula Research is pleased to announce that Michael Nagle has been promoted to Director, Logistics and Quality Assurance. Nagle, who has spent several years leading the Quality Assurance team, will expand his duties to oversee both Field Operations and QA. "This restructuring will allow us to combine fielding with quality assurance, which conceptually is a much better model than the two functions operating independently", said Brian Baker, President of Insula Research, Inc. "Mike has done an outstanding job in QA over the years, and we're optimistic that his energy, experience, creativity, and leadership in this new position will facilitate our continued growth", said Baker.

Insula Research announces the appointment of A.J. Fox to the position of Sales & Marketing Director. A.J. will draw upon his vast marketing background to provide the critical interface between Insula Research and our Fortune 500 customers and prospective clients.

A.J. comes to us with a diverse sales, management and consulting background. He is a Rotarian; a war Veteran; a former radio & TV personality, and serves as a Vice-President on his hometown Visitors & Convention Bureau.
